The bigger the list the more money you can make from your list but it also depends on if these people are in the mood for buying or they are just looking for free information that you can provide.  To me I don’t mind either group as the buyers value my recommendations and I get satisfaction from helping the browsers find what they need as well.  At some stage they may also become buyers.  At the same time I am building my name as someone who is knowledgeable and also working towards becoming a super affiliate.

To build a mailing list list you need to get people to your website or blog or wherever your opt in form is.

Here are a 5 ways to do this.

1. Give them something for free.  Giveaway sites are good for this as well as an opt in form on your blog.  I love ebooks myself but you could make a video or do a podcast or even make a mind map to a solution your readers might have.
2. Post on your blog often.  This I am guilty of not doing as much as I would like but you will see a difference in the amount of traffic if you do post more often.
3. Build a Squidoo Lens around a great solution to a problem your niche might have and point that lens back to your blog.
4. Take part in forums related to your niche.  You can add a link back to your website or blog in your signature.
5. Guest blogging on related sites to yours.  You can find associated blogs on the forums or discussion boards.

I could suggest you do PPC advertising but you really have to know what you are doing otherwise you could get burnt.  Ad swaps are also OK occasionally but in my opinion unless you know the person you are swapping with then don’t do it.

I didn’t mention Twitter or Facebook and of course you should be posting there and linking back to your posts.  Social media is a very powerful tool just now.

Another method to make a banner ad is using Paint.net.  You can download it at www.getpaint.net.  You start with the size then you add a graphic.  Try and avoid using flashing ads as they are a bit distracting and can actually send people from your site.

Learning how to make a banner ad  is not difficult with the right tools, all you need to do is download your image then add some text to it.  Make the text appealing so it will be clicked on.  You can resave your banner now and resize to the desired size.  I usually use a 300 x 300 or 468 x 60 as these fit well on my blogs but its up to you for the size.  This method is so easy and so quick too with Paint.

If you aren’t comfortable on how to make a banner ad yourself then you can use software like XHeader Pro which has hundreds of templates ready for you to use.  You can then add shapes, animations and text to make a professional ad.  This program is mainly used for headers but it works well for banner ads too.  The banners are very professional and the software very easy to use.  I have decided to change a few of my headers on blogs and I am going to use this program to do it.

Affilojetpack is a blog based content package which is especially suitable for newbies.  I feel I can give you a fair and honest review of Affilojetpack as I bought this package in July and have been using it since.  It is really a ready made business for you to implement and you get help every step of the way.  Like I said, it is perfect for newbies but also I found as a more experienced blogger this product is a quick way to make money in profitable niches because a lot of the work is already done for you.

When I bought Affilojetpack I got to choose 5 highly profitable niches.  This is where this review of Affilojetpack get interesting.  With each niche you get 20 high quality articles, 3 ebooks and ecovers, an email newsletter series, a word press theme, header graphics and free hosting for a year.

The article content is very good and you can use it as it is or rewrite (I suggest you rewrite it to make it unique).  The theme is really nice (just look at this site which uses an Affilojet theme) and you have a choice of headers or use one of your own.

The eBooks/reports though are something you wont receive in any other content package I have ever seen.  You can give them away through your optin box on your site to build subscribers or you can use them on Giveaway events.

The graphics too are first class. It used to take me days finding the right WordPress theme, then another week to get a header made for me, then weeks of searching for the right content material and then not really being sure I was on the right path.  You wont find that with Affilojetpack.  Mark doesn’t make packs that aren’t in very profitable niches so you can be assured if you follow his directions you will make money.

The highlight though of this review of Affilojetpack is the acknowledgment of the support you get along the way with every aspect of setting up your blogs. There are videos and forums and a support team to help you.  If you cant solve something then you only have to ask.

The icing on the cake for me was the free hosting for 12 months.  As part of this review of Affilojetpack though I need to tell you what I didn’t like about the product  The only minor thing for me that stopped this package from the complete solution was that I had to supply the domain, but on the upside Mark helps you with this as well for a small extra cost. This program is a bit different to the other two in that it is downloaded to your server and not remotely hosted.  Autoresponse Plus charges an upfront fee for the license ($97 for one) so you don’t have ongoing monthly fees.  Customizing everything as well as importing external lists is easy but if you aren’t tech savy the rest can be more complicated.  You can only install one license per domain but have many campaigns for that domain.

Get Response
The third email marketing autoresponder is Get Response which is the current industry leader and is similar to Aweber.  It allows you the same level of customization like attaching files and adding messages in any format and they ensure delivery. I like the tracking system on this serice which is comparable with Google Analytics.  The price is a little less expensive than Aweber at around $14 for up to 500 subscribers.

You need an autoresponder for your business, just as you need hosting, and before you start outsourcing.  It’s really a personal choice between the three.  Consider though how big your business is, how big it will get and what you want your email marketing autoresponder to do for you.  Why not try one of the three services/companies above and watch your business grow.
