Everyone wants their website to be at the top of the list in the search engines.  If you learn search engine optimization correctly then you can achieve the top search rankings.  I know I want all my sites at page one in Google and there are a few things you can do to get them there and stay there.

On Page
Your strategy should start here.  What ‘on page’ means is how you optimize your site with keywords, images, SEO friendly links, title tags and deep navigation.  If you do this right, then the rest of the methods benefit also.

Article Marketing
This search engine optimization strategy is something that all the Marketing Gurus talk about all the time and something we know we should do more of but being honest with you, I hate it. You need to post articles to provide back links to your sites that the search engines like Google and Yahoo will pick up.  Doing this regularly will maintain the SEO value of those links. If you learn search engine optimization well then your links wont devalue over time.

Back Linking from good Post Rank Sites
It’s not really good enough just to get back links from article marketing however.  You need also to get back links from trusted sites like .edu and .gov and from high post rank sites.  Aim for a PR of 3+.

This is a new search engine optimization strategy for me but worth doing.  This method entails producing an article that will make you into an authority on a certain niche.  You can do this by writing something valuable that other sites will want to link to.

Social Media
Sites like Facebook and Twitter are getting a lot of attention and there are a lot of marketers producing products now to optimize for these sites so there is money and authority in these sites.  The only problem I see with these tools is it is time intensive as you have to provide content daily but on the other hand you can set yourself up as an authority with this
method.

Viral Marketing
This method of SEO is hard to measure compared with the others but still very powerful.  It includes sending out free reports and ebooks, submitting videos to Youtube and building squeezepages.  This method though will also get you traffic to your sites.

Really learn search engine optimization and apply it but don’t restrict yourself to one single method.  They are all good on their own but if you combine all these above then the search engines will reward you and send your site to the top.
